Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo and Arts Initiative Tokyo (AIT) are pleased to present an artist talk with Rina Banerjee, held to mark the opening of the exhibition “You made me leave home…” at Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo (Omotesando) and the artist’s visit to Japan. The talk will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Hillside Plaza (Daikanyama Hillside Terrace), and will feature Rina Banerjee in conversation with Yasufumi Nakamori, independent curator and curatorial adviser to the exhibition.

Banerjee has, since the late 1990s, consistently explored themes of bodies and narratives that traverse boundaries. Her work has been presented in numerous major international exhibitions, including the Busan Biennale and the Venice Biennale. Her works are also held in the collections of leading institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

In 2025, Nakamori curated “(Re)Generations” at the Asia Society in New York, in which Banerjee participated. In this talk, Banerjee’s ideas behind the exhibition, the background of her artistic practice, and her recent activities will be explored in depth through a dialogue with Nakamori, who has previously organized exhibitions featuring her work. It will be a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artist about her creative process.

Please note that the display of Yayoi Kusama’s “Great Gigantic Pumpkin” (2023), featured in the “INFINITY – Selected Works from the Collection” exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka, will conclude on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
All other artworks will be on display until the end of the exhibition on Monday, January 12, 2026 (public holiday).
