ESPACE LOUIS VUITTON TOKYO: UPCOMING PROGRAMME

From October 24 to November 27, 2026, Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo will present InSitu2.

InSitu2 brings together the Espaces Louis Vuitton Tokyo, München, and Beijing through a shared programme promoting contemporary creation, thus illustrating Louis Vuitton’s longstanding commitment to the arts as a leading House of Culture. Following IN SITU-1 in 2015, which for the first time united the Espaces Louis Vuitton Paris, Tokyo and München around women artists exploring the notion of locality, InSitu2 invites artists rooted in each city to create original works that celebrate their respective scenes. Through freely accessible performances, artist talks and educational initiatives, the project brings artists, performers and local communities into dialogue across disciplines and geographies, exploring ideas of transformation and cultural exchange. While united by a common framework, each Espace develops a distinct programme shaped by its local context and creative ecosystem. Across three cities, InSitu2 highlights the role of the Espaces Louis Vuitton as living places for dialogue, creativity and cultural engagement.

At Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo, InSitu2 explores Ibasho [居場所, Place to Belong], building on the belief that home is defined not by physical space alone, but by what happens within it: a gesture repeated, a moment shared, a memory returned to. Set in the heart of Omotesando, the Espace is reimagined this autumn as a home for contemporary art, an Ibasho of its own, becoming a place to be inhabited rather than seen.

The programme brings together traditional and contemporary art forms: live performances spanning traditional Japanese theatre and storytelling, alongside a live jam and DJ session; talks on Omotesando and Ibasho; and a children’s programme held every Sunday. The programme is supported by a scenography developed with young Japanese architectural collective GROUP, working closely alongside the project’s artists and contributors to shape a space that evolves and adapts throughout the run of the programme; allowing Ibasho to take physical form within Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo.
